CLASS EXPERIENCE: A Class For YOUR Group of 6 to 10 people.

We are pleased to offer an exclusive hands-on glassblowing experience for you and YOUR group. This experience is perfect for a group of 6 people up to 10 participants. Birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, team/family bonding, or an afternoon out with friends can be made more memorable with a hands-on glassblowing class! 

Currently, we offer the YOUR Group Class Experience on select Friday evenings and Saturday/Sunday afternoons. If you are interested in booking a class time outside of these hours, please send an email to: glassadmin@glassacademy.com with your details. We do have extra availability on select Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during the day for private events.

The YOUR Group Class Experience includes a guided tour, a glass blowing demonstration of your chosen class item, and an opportunity for each group member to create their very own glass masterpiece. All of the project options are designed by the founders of the Glass Academy, and are original to our studio. These project options are listed below with direct links to each class, so you may view their unique specifics.

PRICING

The price listed below is the base fee and will cover 6 people. A minimum of 6 people and full payment is needed to book this class. If you would like to have more than the covered 6 people attend your class, please note that we can accommodate up to 10 people for this particular class experience.  CLICK HERE for information about booking an event for more than 10 people.

Each additional class participant who will be making a glass item will cost $132 per person (please note: November 23, 2024 - Jan 5th, 2025 rates are $150 per additional person due to high demand). Please let us know how many additional people you would like to add to your class experience by leaving a note at checkout (under the box that says "add a note to your order"), by calling the studio at (313) 561-4527, or by emailing us at glassadmin@glassacademy.com. You will pay for any additional guests on the day of your class. Failure to let us know about additional guests in advance may result in them not being able to make a glass item.

Guest tickets can be purchased for $12 per person to for those who would like to join and observe the class, but not make a glass item.

For groups of 6 people, expect to spend 1.5 hours in class. For groups of 10 people, expect to be in class for 2 hours.

As a group, you will decide which project you want to create. You must decide which item to make PRIOR to your class from the following options so we may prepare the tools, colors and supplies needed for your class.

Happy Hour Experience - You can opt for the Happy Hour Experience as part of the "YOUR Group" option; however, it must be booked separately. To reserve a Private Happy Hour Event, please fill out the form HERE to request a booking. 

Our HANDS-ON class experiences are open for selection under the "YOUR Group" option. YOUR CLASS TICKET PURCHASE INCLUDES...

• The materials, tools, and instruction to make one glass item per person
• A live glassblowing demonstration of the class product from one of our class instructors. 
• A behind-the-scenes tour of our glass studio and Batch Gallery, where you’ll learn more about our successful working art studio and the glass-making process.
• A coupon for 20% off all items in our gallery. This coupon can only be used on the day of your class or the day when you pick up your class product in the studio gallery.

RULES & WHAT TO EXPECT

• This is an entry-level class. No prior experience is necessary!
• You must be at least 16 years old to participate in our classes. However, those under 16 years old are welcome to purchase a guest ticket and watch the class.
• Closed-toed shoes are required and we suggest that you wear layered natural fibers, as it will be hot near the furnaces but cooler in the warehouse itself.
• Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, meet the other students, and browse the gallery.
• Classes are typically 1 to 1.5 hours long. However, the duration may vary depending on the intensity of the project and class size.
• We have a small selection of beverages available for purchase and we highly suggest bringing water to drink during you class.  At this time, we are not able to accommodate food or cake celebrations.
• Before you can take your beautiful glass creation home, it must cool from 1200°F to room temperature and this requires overnight cooling. Once completely cooled, your glass is ready for pickup from our studio OR we offer free shipping directly to your home if you live in the United States.
