CLASS EXPERIENCE: A Class For YOUR Group of 6 to 10 people.

We are pleased to offer an exclusive hands-on glassblowing experience for you and YOUR group. This experience is perfect for a group of 6 people up to 10 participants.  Birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, team/family bonding, or an afternoon out with friends can be made more memorable with a hand's on glass blowing class!

Currently, listed on this page are we are select Friday evenings along with Saturday/Sunday afternoons.  If you are interested in class times beyond these hours, please send an email to: glassadmin@glassacademy.com with your details.  We do have extra availibitiy on select Wednesday, Thursday's and Friday's during the day in the month of December for private events.

This experience includes a guided tour, a glass blowing demonstration of your chosen class item, and an opportunity for each group member to create their very own glass masterpiece. All of the project options are designed by the founders of the Glass Academy, and are original to our studio and are listed below with direct links to each class to view the specifics.

PRICING

The price listed below is the base fee and will cover 6 people. Each additional person will cost $132 per person to make the glass items.  Guest tickets can be purchased for $12 per person to join and observe the class.  Please note: November 23, 2024- Jan 5th, 2025 rates for classes are $150 per person due to high demand.

A minimum of 6 people are needed to reserve your date and full payment is required to book this class. The price listed here is for 6 people. Just follow the links to book your registration.

If you would like to add more than the minimum 6 people, we can accomidate up to 10 for the hands on experience.  Let us know how many people you would like to add (under the box that says "add a note to your order"), or by calling the studio (313)561-4527. You will pay for the remaining guests the day of the class up to 10 people, but we must know in advance to accomidate more than 6.  Failure to let us know, may result in not being able to teach the extra students.

As a group, you will decide which project you want to create. You must decide which item to make PRIOR to your class from the following options so we may prepare the tools, colors and supplies needed for your class.

Happy Hour Experience - You can opt for the Happy Hour Experience as part of the "YOUR Group" option; however, it must be booked separately. To reserve a Private Happy Hour Event, please fill out the form HERE to request a booking. 

Our HANDS-ON class experiences are open for selection under the "YOUR Group" option. Should you wish to explore alternative times or dates, feel free to get in touch with us, and we'll be happy to assist you in checking availability. YOUR CLASS TICKET PURCHASE INCLUDES...

• The materials, tools, and instruction to make one glass item per person
• A live glassblowing demonstration of the class product from one of our class instructors. 
• A behind-the-scenes tour of our glass studio and Batch Gallery, where you’ll learn more about our successful working art studio and the glass-making process.
• A coupon for 20% off all items in our gallery. This coupon can only be used on the day of your class or the day when you pick up your class product in the stuido gallery.

RULES & WHAT TO EXPECT

• This is an entry-level class. No prior experience is necessary!
• You must be at least 16 years old to participate in our classes. However, those under 16 years old are welcome to purchase a guest ticket and watch the class.
• Closed-toed shoes are required and we suggest that you wear layered natural fibers, as it will be hot near the furnaces but cooler in the warehouse itself.
• Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, meet the other students, and browse the gallery.
• Classes are typically 1 to 1.5 hours long. However, the duration may vary depending on the intensity of the project and class size.
• We have a small selection of beverages available for purchase and we highly suggest bringing water to drink during you class.  At this time, we are not able to accomidate food or cake celebrations.
• Before you can take your beautiful glass creation home, it must cool from 1200°F to room temperature and this requires overnight cooling. Once completely cooled, your glass is ready for pickup from our studio OR we offer free shipping directly to your home if you live in the United States.
