Hey, I’m Jake, your main instructor!
What’s up, glass community! My name is Jacob Nordin, and I’m a second-generation glassblower who grew up in the hot shop. I’ve refined my skills by working at various studios and taking courses around the country.
Currently, I work alongside my family running our hot shop, gallery, and in-studio bar — bringing together the perfect combination of community, education, and experience.
I've been turning molten glass into jaw-dropping pumpkins at the Glass Academy for years now, and it's downright magical when you've got the right vibe going! With my knack for twisting the color into the right pattern, perfecting the curves of the body, and those irresistibly twisty stems, I have a way of making every pumpkin feel like it grew in a fairytale garden. I have spent countless hours in the hot shop mastering the tricks, tips, and secret moves that turn “pretty good” into “absolutely perfect.”

Stems
When it comes to pumpkin stems, the Glass Academy has it down to an art form—and that’s no accident. We have perfected our technique with years of experience, since 2009 when we hosted our first in house 'Harvest Fest'.
Our stems are bold, sculptural, and full of personality, with just the right twist and curl to make each pumpkin feel alive, while also being mindful to make them sturdy, in control, and easy to ship out of state when needed.
From dramatic spirals to the delicate, vine-like tendrils, every stem is made to look as if it could have grown that way in the wild, making our pumpkins instantly recognizable and impossible not to love.
