A Tribute to our Dear Etta!!

A Tribute to our Dear Etta!!

Oh Sweet Etta!

We are devastated to announce the sudden passing of our sweet girl Sophietta.

                              Memorial Tribute

It’s with a heavy heart that we are sharing the passing of Etta.  :broken_heart:

She left the earth last Friday, November 22, 2024. We are all saddened by her sudden departure, but also recognizing the amazing memories she was able to give us in her brief time with us here.

I have no doubt that Etta is running freely in heaven and playing tricks on us from above!!  😃  In her short time here at the Glass Academy, she left many memories that we can be grateful for, and for that, I really do give thanks. May we all remember today the spirit of the season, and be thankful for those in our lives: our friends, family, and pets as well.

The Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit in Dearborn has a matching program for donations received by December 3rd. Therefore, any donations we receive will be collected and delivered to the shelter on December 3rd, 2024, so they can get the matching dollars from their secret donor!

We knew some of our customers would ask us how to help, so this is the solution we came up with. If you would like to contribute, you can make a donation right here and we'll share your gift with the shelter that gave us Etta, or you can directly donate to the shelter from the link above.

Thank you in advance for all your kind words and prayers. As you all know, Etta found a warm place in all our hearts!! 💕

Charles Dickens once said, “what greater gift than the love of a cat?” and we were gifted beyond measure.

A rare female orange poofball, Etta brought boundless joy, laughter, and a touch of mischief into our lives from the very moment she entered Glass Academy.

Etta integrated her fuzzy little butt very quickly into everyone’s lives - whether they wanted her to or not. She was most of everyone’s goofy little friend and the bane of Donna’s existence in the office. The gallery was her play zone, where she broke a thing or three, and had zero regrets about anything she did. The hot shop was her stomping ground, where she chugged murk water daily, chased around squirrels, and greeted every visitor with either a loving head bump or a playful paw swat. She was an absolute snack fiend at her core, always scheming how to snag a bonus treat where she could. Rumor even has it that Etta once rummaged through a class student’s purse because she had dog treats in it and was only unsuccessful because she was caught.

She had a heart full of love and an endless supply of energy, always ready to play or curl up on a lap for snuggles.

Etta’s time with us was far too brief, but her impact on our lives will last forever. She was a source of comfort, laughter, and warmth, and she will be deeply missed every day by all who knew her, but especially her GA family. She has been buried out front next to our other favorite girl, Batch.
