Tours and Hands-on Experiences

A. Hands On

(Similar to our Campfire evenings but for a private group)

  • Individual attention and a private setting make this a fun opportunity to try glass making  in a relaxed setting.
  • Customers will make a flower or paperweight after viewing studio samples.
  •  1/2 hour prep time and demo of product at start of event
  • Call studio for available days/times.
  • 20% off all gallery purchases during event.
  • $60 per person, 6 person minimum to book event.
  • 32 total max students for a 4 ½ hour event.
  • 50% payment due, for estimated number of participants, to book the date. Final payment for exact number of participants is due 2 weeks prior to event date. NO REFUNDS after final payment is submitted. No refunds or rescheduling due to weather conditions as long as Glass Academy is open.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age to participate.
  • Additions to this package:
  • want to know more about the history of glass and some unusual facts? Add 1/2 hour, $50 per group
  • Upgrade adding the educational package (adds demo, tour, history, facts) $400 + 2hours
     

B. Corporate/Business Team Building Workshop

  • Excellent team building opportunity for: Corporate groups, traveling conference attendee, trade show, Mensa groups, etc.
  • Team will work with a Designer and Master craftsman to come up with a project specifically related to group/organization. The class will then work to produce this item in molten glass. Finished project goes home with group after annealing (the cooling process)
  • Workshop starts with some basic training; safety and intro to hot glass, and brief historical background on glass making. Group project begins after the intro.
  • One multi-itemed group piece (project) to take home per workshop.
  • Hands on & design interaction is expected of each participating student.
  • $500 basic course fee; materials, instructor rates, design, etc.
  • $100 per student above the basic course fee. (Minimum 6 students, max 20)
  • Course runs 3+ hours depending on number of participants.

  • 2 hour event includes: lecture and history of glass, tour of studio, demonstration and gallery shopping
  • 20% off all gallery purchases during event
  • student school groups 6th grade and over only
  • 51+ customers, please inquire about rate

C.  Educational Tours and Demonstrations

  • Tour of studio highlights the history of the Glass Academy, our unique products and the process of glassmaking thru the ages.
  • Demonstration catered to your group:  Example of products made during the demonstration: bowl, vase, nest, mug, snowman etc. Seasonal products highlighting our events and shows
  • Who does this event? Students, Red Hat Ladies, senior groups, Mensa, small clubs and organizations and garden clubs
  • 2 hour event includes: lecture and history of glass, tour of studio, demonstrations and gallery shopping
  • 20% off all gallery purchases during event
  • Student school groups are 6th grade and up only
  • $400 for 1-50 customers
  • 51+ customers, please inquire about rates

D. Private Glassblowing Class

  • Private class teaching the beginning basics of glassblowing: safety, how-to and then hands-on
  • 6 person minimum, 8 person maximym
  • $200 per person
  • 3 hour class
  • 20% off all gallery purchases during event
  • Clients make 2-3 items per workshop based upon individual skill level in the class

 

     

    Food Options & Suggestions

    • Catering menu available upon request/prices are included on menu/ an additional $50.00 service fee is applied for set-up & clean-up
    • Or bring in your own food and beverages (you may bing bee and wine)/ a $25.00 service fee will be applied to allow you to get her 1/2 hour before your event to set up your area. We have found that hosts like this time before their guests arrive to get settled in.

      Fine print:

      • Classes/workshops must be paid in full 2 weeks prior to the event or we will have to cancel the event with no refunds. Reservations are suggested months in advance but can be accepted as late as 30 days prior to event if we have availability.
      • No refunds on booked studio tours, events, or classes. No refunds or rescheduling due to weather conditions as long as Glass Academy remains open. Prices subject to change at any time. Once you book your event the price is locked in .

When we receive payment from you it means that you agree with our policies and will follow our guidelines and we thank you in advance for that trust and respect.
