Rain Drops

Sometimes rainy days are a nice chance to relax in the comfort of your home. And some days they are a nice reminder of sunshine and warm weather. Here at Glass Academy, we have frozen in time this gentle reminder that a rainy day at the beach is better than a sunny day at the office, and everything is about perspective.

These lovely rain drops are created by carefully letting the molten glass slide off the pipe until they cool enough to be drops, frozen in time. Cut to length, they are then moved to the torch area to make the loop so you can hang these rain drops from any height. The glass loop is large enough that you can place a ribbon or piece of yarn through it to hang in any area of your home. Our favorites are in front of windows or on Christmas Trees.

These delicate works of art are part of our 2nd Design(TM) line, featuring items that use recycled glass straight from our studio.  Often blue in color, we reuse glass that is accumulated during our regular blowing sessions to avoid it going to a landfill. With love, we reheat our glass giving it a "second life", and then use it for our special line of original items in our studio.

Each rain drop is meticulously handmade, one at a time. 

We suggest getting the 3-pack because one just isn't enough!  

Approximate size: 3-5" tall, with the drip size between 1/2"-1".
