Try Glassblowing for fun and then make a paperweight to take home

In this new fun loving class, instructors will show you the bells and whistles on how to blow glass with a demo and then it's your turn! Spin the pipe to keep the molten glass attached to it and then blow “The Big Bubble!” Afterwards, you will be taught how to make something that you can take home for keeps. In this class, you'll be making a colored swirled paperweight with bubbles, air pockets, and cosmic dust made from earthly materials. Class dates start in January 2013 and will run on Thursday & Friday evenings as well as Saturday during the day.

The Experience:

Students will do the Big Bubble Blow so everyone can exclaim: "I tried glassblowing!!" Then experienced glass Artisans will assist 4 students per hour to turn molten glass into extraordinary colorful paperweights filled with beautiful colors, cosmic dust, and air pockets.

The Details:

• All classes start January 2013 and will be held on Thursday and Friday evenings, Saturday’s during the day.
• Must be 16 or older, with signed waiver from guardian if under 18 and bring ID.
• Limit 4 per person.
• Registration happens on line- first come, first served. 
• Near your class date, you will be sent a reminder email with suggestions on what to wear and bring to class, (ie. Cotton clothing, camera, etc.) and directions to the studio.
• We will NOT be sending out gift certificates for this class, even if it is purchased as a gift.  Please have the recepient call the studio and pre-register when they find a date and time that works for him or her.

Our Fine print:

• Low enrollment gives us the right to reschedule class within 48 hours.
• We need 48 hours cancellation notice from you if rescheduling or we will forfeit your class. $10 rescheduling fee applies if you need to swap your register for another class.
• You must take your class before June 29, 2013 or you will forfeit the deal.
• You must be 18 years old to participate in this class or have a parent sign a consent form for 16 and 17 year olds.  ID will be checked at the registration table so please bring it with you.
• If purchasing as a gift please note that the person receiving the gift MUST bring the printed receipt to their class (or the redemption code number) and call the studio at 313-561-4527 to register for a class date and time.
• We reserve the right to cancel any class due to bad weather conditions.  Everyone will be notified.
