3rd Annual Glass Pumpkin Fest – October 15 & 16, 2011 from 10:00-4:00. (Free Admission)

The tradition continues when the Glass Academy opens its doors for the 3rd Annual Glass Pumpkin Fest Show and Sale on October 15 & 16, 2011.  Live glassblowing demonstrations take place both days where customers can commission that one of a kind glass pumpkin or they can choose from the other unique glass pumpkins that will be for sale.  This is an all ages’ show with free admission. The event will be held here at the Glass Academy, located at 25331 Trowbridge, near Gulley Road and Michigan Avenue in West Dearborn.

"What makes this show so special is that customers can watch the master craftsmen design and color the molten glass, then blow it into the desired shape and form of a pumpkin!  It's completely magical," explains Michelle Plucinsky, a founding partner of the Glass Academy.

Prices for pumpkins start at $35 and go up to $250 with all pumpkins crafted at the Dearborn studio.  Due to the huge request at our previous shows, this year we will feature a signature series pumpkin.  Each one will be numbered, signed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.  Expect to pay a slightly higher cost because they are a limited edition and collectible pumpkin.

There will also be a private preview party on Thursday, October 13th from 6-8pm. Tickets are $50 and include live music, food and beverages, and a trained staff to help you pick the perfect pumpkin for your home..
