Events

Have a big event coming up and not sure where to host it - how about the Glass Academy?  Organizations that have  hosted events in the past include Arts & Scraps, Detroit Dance Collective, First Presbyterian Church, Child's Hope, and private parties to name a few.

When you host an event at our studio here's what you can expect:

• Hours of entertainment by our own master glassblowers who will amaze and delight you with their talent.
• An auction where a beautiful piece of glass is created right in front of your eyes.
• Make you event unique:  Arts and Scraps served a marvelous dinner for over 260 people supporting their business, which included a beer tasting event and entertainment by Anne Brege on the harp.
• Fundraising possibilities are endless at the Glass Academy.  Sell tickets for your event and cover the cost of your rental fee.  Your organization will receive 20% of all art work sold that our glassblowers will create right in front of your guests.  And 20% of all items sold from our Gallery during the event will go to your organization as well.

The director of Arts & Scraps states, "Your venue was great for our auction; people have made many comments about how friendly all of you were and what a great place you have.  It's fun to see art at work!"

Coffee Nights

The 2nd Wednesday of every month stop in and warm up with us during Coffee Nights from 6-9 p.m. This a FREE monthly event where you can meet with friends, watch live glassblowing demonstrations, and hang out with the family. Each month we will feature a fellow artist who will be working on their own personal work and demonstrating new techniques as they practice their craft. Enjoy a cup of coffee and the warm glow of the furnace as you unwind from your day.

Drop-in Workshop

While you are enjoying Coffee Nights, you can also participate in our drop-in workshop where you can try your hand at glassblowing your own paperweight or flower for $45, or stamp a glass coin for $10. These make great treasures you can take home and cherish forever. Pre-registration is required.  You can register on-line or by calling the studio.
