Studio Open House - Sept 13th, 1-5p

This FREE event showcases our glass work courses: neon, stained-glass, hot glass, bead making, glass fusing, and glass ornament workshops. Teachers will be on hand to answer your questions and give short demonstrations. Come see what all the buzz is about! Registration is optional, and everyone is welcome.

New Glass Supply Store and summer Gallery hours

We have an assortment of glass supplies for sale on Wednesdays between 9a-5p.

Our new Gallery hours are 11a-3p every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Come see our creative work.

Loop Social Circle - August 17th

Loop is a collective of area crafters who like to get together and share the love of craft-making. Join us Sunday, August 17th 1-5p at the Glass Academy for our August Social Circle. We encourage anyone who loves crafting to join us for an event to create, get to know one another, and help unite the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) community in Detroit. Summer Potluck

Our next potluck is Friday, August 22nd 6-9p at the Glass Academy. The cost is $5 plus a dish to pass or $10 per person. We hope to see you there.

SAMPLER CLASSES

Ever desire to blow glass and see what it is like? Well, now is your chance. Saturday, August 23rd we are holding our next glassblowing sampler class from 10 am until 2 pm. This is an opportunity for you to get up close and personal with molten glass. You will see several short demonstrations then have a chance to make your very own handblown project. The cost for this class is $100 and includes all materials. Classes can fill up quick, so reserve your spot by calling 313-561-4527 and asking for Margie.

Youth Summer Enrichment Classes

Rental Rates

The Glass Academy is available for rental. We can host specialty parties such as the Red Hat Ladies, youth groups such as homeschoolers, and more. Please contact the studio for rates and times available.

The hot shop is also available for rental to seasoned glassblowers. Please contact the studio for current rates.
