4th Annual Glass Pumpkin Fest – October 20 & 21, 2012 from 10:00-6:00. (Free Admission)
The tradition continues when the Glass Academy opens its doors for the 4th Annual Glass Pumpkin Fest Show and Sale on October 20 & 21, 2012. Live glassblowing demonstrations take place both days where customers can commission that one of a kind glass pumpkin or they can choose from the other unique glass pumpkins that will be for sale. This is an all ages’ show with free admission. The event will be held here at the Glass Academy, located at 25331 Trowbridge, near Gulley Road and Michigan Avenue in West Dearborn.
“What makes this show so special is that customers can watch the master craftsmen design and color the molten glass, then blow it into the desired shape and form of a pumpkin! It’s completely magical,” explains Michelle Plucinsky, a founding partner of the Glass Academy.
This year we are really excited to debut the “sugar” line pumpkins. It’s a color added to the surface of the glass and only slightly melting in, giving the illusion of real sugar.
Due to the huge request at our previous shows, this year we will feature a signature series pumpkin. Each one will be numbered, signed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Expect to pay a slightly higher cost because they are a limited edition and collectible pumpkin.
Many customers love the fact that they are made by local artists and they buy them as gifts for out of town relatives and friends showing off ‘Michigan-Made’. 2012 Private Preview Party
There will also be a private preview party on Thursday, October 18th from 6-8pm. Tickets are $50 and include live music, food and beverages, and a trained staff to help you pick the perfect pumpkin for your home..
